Sustainable Technology

Sustainability is now high on the agenda.

R G Stones can assist in reducing your building’s carbon footprint by using such features as solar panels; sun-pipes which concentrate natural light to reduce the need for artificial lighting; and sensor -controlled lighting which is activated by people entering a room.

Programmable lighting can be installed that turns off lights when an area is unoccupied and creates optional ‘scenes’ where lighting is customised to give different levels of intensity within a room. On bright days the system automatically dims the lights to save power.

The manufacturer states that savings gained by the installation of automatic lighting control systems often exceed 70%

Examples of technology that may be fitted to our buildings include:

  • Grey water systems
  • Solar panels
  • Ground source heat pumps
  • Air conditioning
  • Heat recovery ventilation
  • Water butts
  • Underfloor heating
